Is there a fee for entry?
No. We do not charge an entry fee. We do however ask that all riders / Pillion do collections either our Online Fundraising service or by the collection cards.
Is there a minimum collection amount?
No. As every rider is asked to do a collection we do not set limits. We do ask that you collect as much as possible. If you cannot however make a collection we do ask that you make a small person contribution.
How many bikers will be taking part?
We are expecting in the region of a 1000 bikers on this year’s run however as we live in Ireland and the weather changes hourly this may change.
How do I register for the run?

Can I carry a pillion passenger?
Yes you can carry a pillion passenger as long as you are legally entitled to. If you hold a provisional A or A1 licence you are Not Allowed by law to carry pillions. This is an offence and we ask that all riders abide by Irish Law. Midland Motorcycle club will not be held responsible for those who break these laws – You have been Warned!
Can I follow the cavalcade in a car?
If you wish to follow the cavalcade by car please remain at the end of the cavalcade. You will however NOT be included in the cavalcade and must make your own way through traffic and abide by the rules of the road as normal
How long does the run take?
The Event takes place over a three day period starting Friday 27th June in Moate and finishing in Athlone on the Sunday. For full details of the route please Click Here
How long do we ride for each day?
You can expect to ride for approximately 6 to 8 hours per day. We do however break this up by stopping a pre designated garages along the route for refreshments and Petrol. This is Subject to Change
Is accommodation included?
No, Accommodation is not included. You must make and pay for your reservations. For your ease we have listed numerous Hotels and B&B’s along the route. At times we also receive special rates from certain hotels for entrants on the Midlands Fun Run
What is the minimum engine size I can use?
As you will be covering a 1000kms over the Fun Run weekend we would recommend that you use a minimum engine size of 250cc. However if you do wish to take part on a smaller size engine bike we cannot be held responsible for mechanical difficulties you may experience. To help riders we will have a support van that can help carry out minor repairs.
Do I have to take part in the full run?
No. You can take part in as much of or as little of the run as you wish. If however you do wish to drop out en-route we ask that you continue in the cavalcade to one of the designated stops for your own and all other rides safety.
Can I join the Fun Run en-route?
If you wish to join the Fun-run en-route we ask that you remain at the end of the cavalcade until we reach a part of the run where you can Register. You will then be issued with your entry number and security tag that you must affix to your motorbike

What is the money raised used for?
All money raised goes to The Friends of St Lukes for the purchase of new and replacement equipment and various projects within the Hospital. St Luke's is the "Centre of Excellence" in the treatment of cancer. For More information about The Friends of St Lukes please Click Here
What clothing should I wear?
Midland MCC recommended that all riders and pillions wear full motorcycle clothing including gloves, helmet, boots, armoured trouser pants and jacket.
Can I become a marshal and if so how?
If you have had previous Marshal experience in motorcycle Cavalcades orother similar event and would like to Marshal in this year’s event please Contact Us and give a brief account of your experience We will get back to you with further details
Where does it start / finish – is there stops en-route?
This years run starts in Moate and winds its way to Waterford, Cork, Tralee, and ending back in Athlone. For full details about this years run please Click Here
I want to watch – what is the best place to see the cavalcade?
We will be stopping in as many towns as possible. There will be busses along route stopping in the various towns and doing collections.
